About Sheikhpura District (Sheikhpura Jila)
Sheikhpura district is one of the 38 districts of Bihar state, India, and Sheikhpura town is the regulatory headquarter of this district. Sheikhpura district is a part of Munger Division.
This district lies in the southern side of Bihar that is surrounded by Nalanda and Patna district in North, Nawada and Jamui district in South, Lakhisarai district in East and Nalanda and Nawada district in West.
The district comprises just one sub-division Sheikhpura, which is isolated into six blocks: Ariari, Sheikhpura, Barbigha, Ghatkusumbha, Chewara, Shekhopur Sarai.
Girihinda Pahad or Girihinda Hill
Girihinda Pahad is one of the most scenic place in the district. The height of this hill is about 500 feet, on top of which there is a temple of Lord Shiva. One can enjoy very beautiful natural view from the top of this hill.
In order to develop it as a tourist place by the district administration, a 2200 feet long pucca road has been constructed to reach by motor vehicle on its top.
